Common definition of body measurements

The rules of taking measurements:

  • neck semi-girth: the tape measure must be placed horizontally at the neck base;
  • upper chest semi-girth: the tape measure is placed horizontally to the level of armpits above the bust;
  • lower chest semi-girth: is measured at the fullest points of the chest;
  • waist semi-girth: is measured at the waistline, a little bit lower than the bellybutton;
  • hips semi-girth: the tape measure is placed horizontally at the fullest part of the buttocks;
  • chest width: chest girth at the armpits area;
  • chest center: chest girth at its fullest part;
  • shoulder width: the length from the beginning of the neck until the end of the shoulder;
  • sleeve length: the length from the end of the shoulder to the wrist;
  • arm girth: arm girth at its widest part;
  • wrist girth: wrist girth;
  • the length of the back until the waistline: vertical measurement of the back across the shoulder blades, from the waistline until the 7 th cervical vertebra;
  • chest height: horizontal measurement from the shoulder line to the highest point of bust;
  • the length of the front part until the waistline: horizontal measurement from the shoulder line to the waistline;
  • oblique shoulder height: horizontal measurement from the middle of the belt-line to the edge of the shoulder;
  • back width: the back width, measured from the armpits;
  • garment length: vertical measurement from the belt-line until the required length point.
