The sizes of coats

When determining the size of a coat by the size charts, standard 2-3 (cm) size mismatch should be considered. So, even if very accurate measurements are taken and brand size charts are used, little mismatches might be found still.

Common size charts are made for people of standard complexion, up to 176 (cm) height for women and up to 189 (cm) height for men. For nonstandard body complexion, determining the size by the typical size charts would be incorrect.

How the size depends on the sleeve length:

1. The standard sleeve length is considered to be the length, that is 2-3 (cm) below the wrist. That particular length is considered in standard size charts.

2. For three-quarter sleeve coats an allowance for a thin jumper is considered, however most of the time there is no need to wear a jumper, therefore, for accurate size determining it's better to consider an allowance of 2-4 (cm). That means, from the taken measurements You should minus 3-4 (cm), and according to the results, determine Your size.

How the size depends on the coat length:

  • it's important to understand that the size of the coat does not depend on its length;
  • standard coat length is the length that reaches the knees. All common size charts are made considering the standard length;
  • the length of standard winter coats is 5-10 (cm) longer than demi-season coats.
