Gymboree clothing sizes are determined in (in) considering:

head girth;
waist circumference;
height;
trousers inseam length;
weight.

Taken measurements are looked up in Gymboree size chart identifying the required size. Gymboree sizes are shown either according to age, or by international standard – from XS to L.

Differences between girls and boys charts:

Gymboree size charts for both, girls and boys, are in one chart – measures fit a child not depending on the sex.

For accurate choice:

Clothes are ordered size to size, manufacturer sizes match the indicated sizes.

However, it might happen that some knitted head-wear and hats are smaller than the labeled sizes.

Gymboree footwear size is determined by:

age;
foot length (in).

If the footwear is purchased for a growing child 0.3 (in) is added to the foot length.

If the footwear is purchased for wearing at the current moment then an allowance of 0.07-0.11 (in) is added to summer and demi-season footwear and 0.2 for insulated footwear models.

In Gymboree size charts the sizes are mentioned according to both age and foot length – if the two measurements do not match, then the choice should be based on foot length.
